Investment Rationale
We focus on the value of a business, not the price. Price is a function of intrinsic value and market sentiments. For a good business, intrinsic value doesn’t swing too much year to year — but market sentiments do, and hence the stock price.
We focus on earnings growth and firmly believe valuation must follow earnings at some point. Earnings for a good business do not oscillate too much from year to year, but stock price does. We remain buyers when sentiments are bad and prices are depressed.
We are not interested in cheap stocks — cheap can become cheaper. We are interested only in quality stocks available at reasonable valuation. Margin of safety is non-negotiable.
What looks like a multi-bagger over the years is a result of consistent compounding. Compounding at 25% per annum produces a 10-bagger in 10 years. Consistency is everything.
